IPU New Zealand Student, Wen-Po Yeh, Attends the JSANZ Tertiary Japanese Language Speech Contest in Auckland
Earlier this year, IPU New Zealand student, Wen-Po Yeh, came third in the JSANZ Tertiary Japanese Language Speech Contest, and on Friday he travelled to Auckland to attend the prize-giving ceremony.
Hosted by The University of Auckland’s School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics, speeches were given by Professor Martin East, Head, School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics, The University of Auckland; Mr Hamada Shinichi, Consulate-General of Japan in Auckland; Mr Shimizu Yasumasa, Mitsubishi Corporation Auckland Branch and a director of Nisui-Kai (The Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Auckland Inc.) and Dr Penny Shino, Japanese Studies Aotearoa New Zealand (JSANZ) President.
We would like to congratulate Wen-Po and the two prize-winners: Rika Xiong (first place) and Kitty Cheng (second place).
