Saturday Afternoon's Alright for International Basketball at IPU New Zealand
This Saturday saw IPU New Zealand host the New Zealand v Australia Deaf Basketball international at our Recreation Centre, and whilst the result didn’t quite go the way for the Kiwi supporters in the crowd, it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present, especially our students.
This was our first international sporting event since the opening ceremony of The Women’s World Team Squash Championship back in November 2012, and thanks are due to everyone involved, especially Basketball Manawatu, Deaf Sports New Zealand, Deaf Sports Australia, the Australian Goannas Deaf Basketball Team, the Deaf Sports New Zealand Black Thunder Team, and Kevin Bills Media, who kindly supplied this photo of the happy group of players, officials, and IPU New Zealand staff and students.
Let’s do it all again sometime.
