UN Peacekeeper holds lecture on campus
Seminar Report of Todd Hart, Lieutenant Colonel of New Zealand Army
On 3 rd February 2017, Todd Hart, Lieutenant Colonel of New Zealand Army gave a lecture in a seminar held by New Zealand Institute of International Affairs Palmerston North branch. He delivered his talk on his first-hand experience in United Nations (UN) peacekeeping missions in Angola, Timor Leste, Iraq and Israel. Currently, he serves as a UN peacekeeper in the UN Truce Supervision Organisation. Mr. Hart gave us inspiring stories about his role of de-mining together with political, economic and social backgrounds of these countries. In particular, he lectured us how important and beneficial it was to continuously read, study and experience regional and global issues.
